The Business

SCION Instruments was established following the acquisition of the former Varian GC and GC-MS product lines from Bruker Corporation in 2014. Summary

Responsible for the planning and organization of our production facility and ensuring availability of necessary material, equipment, and labour resources required to meet customer and business demands. You will manage a small team responsible for planning, assembling and testing scientific instruments and have some responsibility for site and facilities management. Continuous improvement and employee development are important factors and these will be essential in your day-to-day tasks also. You will support the Leadership team in key tasks and objectives and input in to budgets and business development, alongside key department leaders. This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday).

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees manufacturing functions
  • Works closely with other departments to meet business requirements
  • Prepares budgets, schedules, and other organisational reports as needed
  • Provides leadership and direction to the team
  • Develops and motivates the team to meet the needs of the business
  • Develops plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Improves upon existing systems and policies
  • Ensures on time delivery of customer requirements
  • Promotes and enforces safety in the workplace
  • Manages the warehouse operations to support production and customer needs
  • Assists senior management in setting goals that promote company growth

Required Experience & Education

  • Previous warehouse and logistics experience
  • Proficient in MRP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Capable of working independently, self-motivator with and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with continuous improvement strategies and execution
